50K4-1 Agilium Freestep
Reference number | 50K4-1 |
The Agilium Freestep has an innovative mode of action that has been biomechanically and clinically tested. What’s unusual about the Agilium Freestep is that it’s designed as an ankle-foot orthosis (AFO). This means the knee is not restricted. But above all, this design means that the forces generated during a step can be utilised.
- For patients in all age groups, but especially:
- when knee surgery is contraindicated
- when a knee orthosis would be problematic, e.g. for obese patients
- as support for osteoarthritis treatment - Fitting leaves the knee free
- Brace cannot slip out of place
- High acceptance thanks to its slim, comfortable design
- Dynamic – rather than static – means the effect occurs only when the knee is loaded

Product information
Indications | Unicompartmental osteoarthritis of the knee Pre-operative: to check the indication for a valgising corrective osteotomy for varus osteoarthritis of the knee (brace test) Post-operative: after procedures in the cartilage structure and meniscus surgery requiring unilateral relief |
How it works | For the lateral brace – medial osteoarthritis of the knee - Reduces eversion of the foot in the lower ankle joint for medial osteoarthritis of the knee. - Applies lateral force to the lower leg. - Reduces the varising moment (medial osteoarthritis of the knee). For the medial brace – lateral osteoarthritis of the knee - Reduces inversion of the foot in the lower ankle joint for lateral osteoarthritis of the knee. - Reduces the valgising moment (lateral osteoarthritis of the knee). - Relieves the lateral compartment for patients with lateral osteoarthritis of the knee. |
