1C58 Taleo Side Flex
Reference number | 1C58 |
User Weight Capacity | 130 kg |
Type of Feet | Mechanic |
The Taleo Side Flex was designed especially for active users who navigate varied indoor and outdoor environments and place a high value on effortless walking and a high degree of socket comfort on uneven surfaces. The carbon foot sets a new standard for mediolateral flexibility. Compared with conventional prosthetic feet, its terrain adaptation unit lets it adapt to slopes right after heel strike to an exceptional degree. It ensures immediate adaptation and safe, full-surface ground contact on uneven terrain and sideways slopes. This reduces the compensating movements or lateral tilting moments in the socket, which users frequently find to be disruptive.
It’s more than a foot. It’s a foundation.

The effortless mediolateral flexibility is achieved by a titanium torsion bar. This technology permits a 20° range of motion (10° medial and 10° lateral).

Thanks to integrated seals and the use of corrosion-resistant materials, the mechanism is protected against fresh, salt and chlorinated water, making the foot ideal for use in and around water.

Thin double carbon springs and a long carbon base spring ensure high flexibility, efficient energy return and a smooth rollover for a dynamic gait pattern without dead spots, even at changing walking speeds.

The unique flexible connection of the carbon springs in the forefoot of the Taleo Side Flex results in optimal adaptation to varying ground conditions.

The curved underside of the joint unit facilitates an easier rollover compared to low profile feet with a conventional foot adapter.

Three different heel wedge options can be used to customise the impact stress at heel strike as well as the gait dynamics.

Stop bumpers gently dampen the side-to-side impact when the full range of motion needs to be utilised on very uneven ground or slopes.

Benefits at a glance
Extraordinary mediolateral flexibility
Conventional prosthetic feet adapt to lateral slopes only to a small extent at heel strike. Only later on do these feet adapt to a greater extent as the load on the forefoot increases, with maximum adaptation occurring at the end of the stance phase. The Taleo Side Flex adapts to lateral slopes and uneven ground to a high degree right after heel strike. This has a positive impact on the user’s comfort and safety.
Smooth rollover for easy walking
The prosthetic foot’s seamless rollover from heel strike to toe-off allows easy and comfortable walking without dead spots. It lets users move smoothly when spontaneously changing speed and direction.
Energy-efficient walking for less fatigue
The Taleo Side Flex carbon foot gives users the right amount of energy return for every step. This means that they have more energy for varying walking speeds and can cover greater distances.
For users who have limited build height available
The Taleo Side Flex is suitable for users who have only limited build height available for the installation of their prosthetic foot.
Robust, maintenance-free technology
The technology is robust and maintenance-free. The integrated seals and the use of corrosion-resistant materials optimally protect the mechanism of the terrain adaptation unit.
Protected against fresh, salt and chlorinated water
The Taleo Side Flex is resistant to fresh, salt and chlorinated water. Openings in the sole of the footshell of the prosthetic foot also prevent water from collecting in the prosthesis.
