Varos. Right from the start.

The Varos socket is a versatile socket solution that is very comfortable to wear and can benefit transfemoral amputees starting in the rehabilitation phase as well as during treatment with the definitive prosthesis.

A key advantage is that the prosthesis wearer can adjust the socket circumference independently for changes in the residual limb volume and as needed for day-to-day activities. The innovative, modular design of the Varos socket saves a lot of time during custom adaptation.

The combination of Varos socket and Varos liner can be used for interim and definitive fitting. The 6Y200 Varos liner must be ordered separately.

Length adjustment
Length adjustment

Both side rails and socket shells can be easily shortened and adapted to the amputee’s measurements. Custom sizing is facilitated by clear scales on the side rails.

6Y200 Varos liner
6Y200 Varos liner

The Varos socket is combined with a special liner that distributes the pressure on the residual limb. Contact of the liner with fabric adhesive strips in the socket and the distal magnetic connector result in especially good adhesion in the socket.

The 6Y200 Varos liner must be ordered separately.

Spherical adapter
Spherical adapter

The Varos socket encompasses a spherical connection adapter as an essential element for alignment optimisation. It allows the socket flexion position to be adjusted in a range of 15°, thereby laying the foundation for treatment of high quality.

Flexibility
Flexibility

Due to the design and choice of materials, the wall of the Varos socket is more flexible compared to conventional prosthetic sockets, thereby improving wearer comfort.

BOA Fit System
BOA Fit System

With the adjustment wheels of the BOA Fit System, the prosthesis wearer can adjust the socket circumference themselves. This allows the fit of the socket to be optimised at any time, adjusting for volume fluctuations of the residual limb or for various activities.

Benefits at a glance

Enhanced feeling of safety and improved stability

Enhanced feeling of safety and improved stability

Keeping a clear head to think about what’s next. The Varos socket makes it possible to do just this. It offers good stability and comfort, helping the user feel safer. This makes it easier to concentrate on what they actually want to do.

Socket circumference can be independently adjusted

Socket circumference can be independently adjusted

With the help of the BOA Fit System, prosthesis wearers can adjust the circumference of their socket themselves for any residual limb volume fluctuations and as needed for various activities. This lets them directly influence how safe they feel in day-to-day life.

Easy to put on and take off the prosthesis

Easy to put on and take off the prosthesis

The Varos socket makes it easy to put on and remove the prosthesis even while sitting. This is a huge advantage, especially for older prosthesis wearers or individuals who are affected by an amputation and have little experience in using a prosthesis.

Reaching your goal quickly

Reaching your goal quickly

A modular socket design, easy adaptability: A prosthesis with the Varos socket saves valuable time for the technician and prosthesis wearer. The number and duration of the visits the amputee needs for prosthesis adjustments are significantly reduced.

A clean job – a new dimension

A clean job

Compared to conventional sockets, processing the Varos socket is simple, fast and above all clean. Plaster casting is no longer required. The two socket shells and side rails are simply shortened. Socket adaptation only requires four measurements.

Broad field of application

Broad field of application

Old, young, active or less active, from rehabilitation to the definitive prosthesis: Many transfemoral amputees benefit from the advantages of the Varos socket. Less active patients and patients in the early phase in particular will appreciate the benefits.
