Release of the new Empower
It's more than a foot, it's a foundation
STOCKHOLM, Sweden (March 1, 2021) – Ottobock’s portfolio of prosthetic feet continues to expand, providing even more options to meet the wishes and demands of the individual users. Today, we are happy to announce the launch of the new Empower, the microprocessor-controlled prosthetic foot with an active ankle joint, making it the only prosthesis with powered propulsion.
The new Empower reduces loading on the body joints and offers a smooth rollover thanks to the Taleo Low Profile base spring. Because of Empower’s powered propulsion, users get more energy with every step and increased balance and stability on uneven terrain due to the foot’s real-time adaptation technology.
An intuitive and simple setup application for O&P professionals, new foot shell option and new foot design are other notable features with the new Empower.
Empower is designed for active individuals who navigate varied indoor and outdoor environments and place a high value on the ability to cover longer distances and walk at a higher walking speed.
